Hi! My name is Deb and I am basically Science@home.
I studied Human Biology and Archaeology in my Bachelor of Science, then did Honours in Anatomy. I started a PhD but decided to go in a different direction, so I went back and did a Post-Graduate Diploma in Education.
I taught in remote communities and towns for 9 years before I had children, so I have taught all sorts of things in addition to Secondary Science and Maths. Because I have usually been the only specialist teacher in tiny schools I have a lot of experience in coming up with creative uses of resources 🙂
Along the way I completed a Master of Education, so I also have a strong grounding in educational theory and why we do what we do.
When I had children I stopped teaching and became a stay at home Mum, which is when I really discovered the internet, it was my support system. I’ve been running a cloth nappy business for the past couple of years, but as my kids get closer to toilet training I’m moving into my first love, science education.
